Chimwemwe Kapichi is an experienced Monitoring Evaluation Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Specialist with over 10years experience in several donor-funded programmes in different organizations. He has expertise in Designing & Implementing various Research studies; participatory MEL Frameworks & Systems development; Climate Change studies; and online digital data collection and analysis.

 

Chimwemwe has worked for Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM); World Food Programme (WFP); National Statistical Office (NSO); Plan International Malawi; and Link Education Malawi in various roles. He is currently working for Civil Society Network on Climate Change (CISONECC) as MEAL Manager for the InsuResilience project.

  • Research: Led several teams and supported external consultants to conduct evaluations for various organizations since 2014 including Baseline, midline & social Inclusion research for AusAid WASH project -Plan International; Baseline & Midline research for FCDO`s Team Girl Project; NRP SoPs; Analysis of Latrine survival during heavy flooding for Plan International; Baseline study for Comic Relief and many rapid assessments for various projects.
  • Experience in implementing Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) research activity in Sub-Saharan Africa (Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique with Plan International.
  • Designing and implementing Climate Change research in northern Malawi. “Assessing the Impact of Climate Change and Land Use on the discharge of South Rukuru River”. Msc in Geography & Earth Science Thesis
  • Developing MEL frameworks and systems with programme teams for numerous projects and skilled in proposal development for potential funding.
  • Data Management & Analysis– Geo Sciences data application experience. Designed numerous online tools and analysis in SPSS, KOBO and Excel (Pivot Tables) - Database Development – SPSS, CSPro, EpiInfo and Excel)
  • Worked with Mulanje DCT to develop District Sanitation Investment Plan (DSIP) under the AusAid funded project and to develop ODF plan in line with the National ODF strategy.
