CISONECC with financial help from Scottish Government through SCIAF and Trōcaire under Climate Challenge Program Malawi (CCPM) organized Stakeholder Training on Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) which was held in Liwonde, Machinga District on 26th February, 2021.
Particularly, the training was organized to raise stakeholders’ awareness on climate change related policies in the country. Furthermore, the training aimed to build the stakeholders’ capacity to implicitly contribute to the participatory monitoring and evaluation of climate change policies, strategies and plans.
The training enhanced participants’ knowledge on the National Climate Change Management Policy. Stakeholder’s knowledge on what participatory monitoring and evaluation entails was also enhanced. Most importantly, the training helped to build stakeholder’s capacity on how to meaningfully and effectively engage in PME. However, it remains a need for more stakeholder trainings on the PME to ensure inclusion, ownership and knowledge sharing.Read full report here
