CISONECC in partnership with CARE Malawi with support from the Government of Germany and CARE German is implementing an InsuResilience Multi-Actor Partnerships (MAPS) projectonClimate and Disaster Risk Financing and Preparedness in the Context of the InsuResilience Global Partnership. Prior to commencement of the project, CISONECC conducted a state of play assessment on Climate and Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance (CDRFI) with the aim of finding out the status quo of CDRFI issues in Malawi to guide the advocacy of the same.
In line with this, CISONECC released two articles in the Weekend Nation of 3rd and 10th October, 2020. The articles aimed at disseminating the findings of the state of play findings on CDRFI issues in Malawi to the general public and also to raise awareness to stakeholders and the general public on the importance of CDRFI initiatives.
The articles were very essential to the InsuResilience Multi-Actor Partnerships (MAPS) project as they raised awareness of stakeholders that are implementing initiatives in line with CDRFI as well as enlightened stakeholders and the general public on the significance of financing and insurance in dealing with climate change related disasters.
